Iran-Russia solid ties to foil enemies' threats: Official

Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Ramezan Ali Sobhani said the exchange of delegations between the two countries will further foster bilateral ties.

Sobhani made the remarks while referring to the visit of a Russian delegation led by Chairwoman of the State Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko to Iran on November 13, describing it as a positive step towards further cooperation.

Iran and Russia are two great influential countries in the region, said the official adding the two enjoyed good relations in the cultural, social, economic and security issues.

While the western countries including the US are making security and economic threats against Iran and Russia, Iran and Russia could overcome those threats through consolidating their ties, the official stressed.

The parliamentarian also commented on the Syrian crisis saying Tehran and Moscow could stand by each other to expel the terrorist group of Daesh from the Iraqi and Syrian borders.

Sobhani also called for further ties between Tehran and Moscow.
