Iran reserves right to respond to crimes against border guards

The minister urged the Pakistani authorities on Friday to take immediate steps to arrest and punish those behind the criminal act.

Armed bandits affiliated to the so-called Jaish ul-Adl (Army of Justice) terrorist group attacked the Iranian border guards from the Pakistan’s soil on April 26, killing 11 Iranian border guards, including 3 officers and 8 privates in an ambush in Mirjaveh region some 75 km to the eastern Zahedan, capital city of the Sistan-Baluchestan province, neighboring Pakistan.

Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, in a message on the martyrdom of the border guards, extended his condolence to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, commanders and the staff of security forces as well as the Iranian nation and the bereaved families of the martyrs.

Reminding that Iranian government has pursued the matter through Pakistan’s government, the minister added that Tehran reserved the right to respond to the brutal terrorist acts.

He urged the Pakistani authorities to arrest and punish criminals involved in the terrorist attack as soon as possible.
