
Speaking to IRNA, he said that the infamous media in the UK created the hype against Iran for certain political reasons.
Kamalvandi added, “We had longstanding talks with Kazakhstan in case of buying 950 tons of uranium and all the Group 5+1 members, including the UK and the US, have confirmed the issue.”
The UK changed its previous position and opposed the issue after the US presidential election, Kamalvandi noted.
He said that the Iranian Foreign Ministry continues efforts to convince the UK in this regard.
The UK-based 'New Europe' newspaper claimed in a report recently that Kazakhstan has suspended uranium export to Iran because of the new US government anti-Iranian policies.
Kazakhstan’s national company Kazatomprom and the nuclear energy organization of Iran have a contract for supply of 950 tons of yellow cake.
