Iran ready to boost cooperation with Africa: Spox

Qasemi made the remarks in a meeting with Chief of the Ivory Coast News Agency (AIP), Oumou Barry Sana, who arrived in Tehran on Sunday to sign cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRNA.

Qasemi noted, 'Certainly one of the reasons behind low levels of ties is lack of acquaintance and it's up to us, you and IRNA and similar institutes to make the two governments and nations further familiar with each other.'

Qasemi reaffirmed Foreign Ministry's support to exchanging delegations of reporters and presence of Ivory Coast reporters in Iran to undergo education.

Oumou Barry Sana, for her part, said that she is in Iran to help promote cooperation with IRNA and what is important is that the Ivory Coast nation has access to real news in Iran and Iranians get informed of real events in the country.

The official also hailed Iranian women's presence in administrative positions.

Ivory Coast is located in west Africa, which gained independence from France in 1960.
