Iran President underlines unity among Islamic countries

'In the light of the current situation, Islamic countries now, more than ever need unity and cooperation,' President Hassan Rouhani said in his message to the Jordanian King Abdullah II.

The President congratulated the anniversary of country's Independence Day to King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan.

President Rouhani called for further expansion of ties between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The president wished health and success for King Abdullah II and dignity and prosperity for the Jordanian people.

May 25 is Jordan Independence Day on which a treaty was signed in 1946. According to the treaty, the constitutional monarchy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was established and the country gained independence from Great Britain.
