In a series of Twitter messages, Hamid Baeidinejad listed the most important points about Burns’ speech on US foreign policy as follow:
1. US allies are gradually losing faith in it and have started separating themselves and distancing from the country. The bodies for the establishment of which the US has worked very hard and are now in dire need of renovation are gradually weakening and are in confusion. These damages will not be easily removed and compensated for especially if Trump is supposed to stay in power for another 4 years.
2. The US policy to take advantage of secondary sanctions to prevent Europeans’ trade with Iran was out of narrow-mindedness.
Pay attention to German and Franch warnings saying sanctions should be responded by making Europe economic governance independent from US.
It may not happen quickly but many countries namely US allies have taken strides to reduce their vulnerability against US financial system.
3. Iranian leaders are now thinking that after one year attempts to isolate Iran by withdrawing from Iran nuclear deal, US itself is now isolated.
US sanctions has damaged Iran’s economy but US main aim is not to achieve a better nuclear agreement with Iran but the incumbent US administration is after toppling and creating explosion from inside Iran.
Despite the fact that Iran is under pressure but I do not think that this strategy will lead any of the two goals.

4. More useful solution will be investment and relying on nuclear agreement.
However the nuclear agreement is not flawless, but there is rarely complete issue in diplomacy.
5. The war in Yemen is not only a humanitarian disaster but a strategic catastrophe for Saudi Arabia.
Trump is not willing to pressure Saudi Arabia to retreat from false policies.
6. Trump is expert in playing with fear and promoting stress in public opinion to promote its policies and does not pay attention to the economic and executive consequences of his acts.
UK also should not think that after Brexit, it will achieve a useful trade agreement with US, especially when it will become weaker after pulling out of the EU.
