Masoud Soltanifar, Iran's minister of sports and youth at a meeting with Cuban Ambassador to Tehran Alexis Bandrich Vega in Tehran said that the relations between the two countries on sports are also at a good level, and the Cuban athletes have been among the main participants of international sport events in Iran.
The Cuban envoy, at the meeting, said that the US sanctions have strengthened the two countries, and Havana is proud to have ties with Iranians.
He also invited the Iranian minister to attend sport conference and festival of Cubans in Havana.
Iran and Cuba for their anti-American stances have long been targets of US sanctions.
