Iran concerned about humanitarian situation in Syria, welcomes ceasefire

Any agreement to resolve the Syrian crisis should focus on improving the humanitarian, security and political situation, he said.

Syrian crisis is regarded as a security issue as the terrorist groups have disrupted the security of Syria, region and the entire world and any agreement irrespective to such reality will make the situation much worse, Ansari said.

Some parts of the Syrian society call for changes which should be heeded, he said.

The current humanitarian crisis created by conflict in Syria should stop urgently, Ansari said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that Syrian crisis has no military solution and this issue should be resolved through political means, he said.

It is not possible to accept any option offered by regional and international players ignoring the significant role of Syrian nation to determine their won fate, he said.

Turkey is our big neighbor and has long border with Syria and the country's stand on ongoing developments in Syrian will be effective, he said.

In fact, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey as the two major Islamic countries have developed relations but both of them have taken clear stand toward Syria, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop cooperation with Turkey to help resolve the current crisis in Syria, he said.

Five years after escalation of crisis in Syria and the clear stands adopted by the Islamic Republic of Iran on non-military intervention in the country, now, the grounds are well prepared for regional and international players to resolve the issue through political means, he said.

He expressed the hope that current humanitarian crisis in Syria would be resolved through political means.

Confrontation between some regional and international players have complicated the Syrian issue, Ansari said.

People will have the final say in all national and international disputes, he said.
