Iran cautions Islamic countries on US divisive plots

He made the remarks in reaction to the anti-Iran remarks made by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

He rejected US defense secretary claim on Iran’s plot for assassination of an Arab envoy in Washington and said that years after the event, the world public opinion is now quite familiar with this scenario of the US and Saudi officials.

'Iran is heedless of these baseless claims,' Qasemi noted.

He referred to US President Donald Trump recent trip to Riyadh and said that the US defense secretary is responding to extravagant hospitality of his Saudi host.

The dollar-based US policy and manipulation of terrorism by the country is source of instability and insecurity in the world in particular the Middle East, the spokesman noted.

He expressed sorrow for the US officials and said that extension of such behaviors will taint the prospect of international community fight against terrorism phenomena and will even darken the future vision.

The US has longstanding record of such accusations against independent states, Qasemi added.

US officials in 2011 accused Iran of having a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington and are now repeating the same claims.
