Iran becomes member of ILO board of directors

Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei also participated in the ILO election which was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Iran is the first country which has become member of ILO board of directors for the third consecutive year.

In addition to Iran, Bahrain, South Korea and Thailand from Asia and Oceanea Group are also members of ILO board of directors.

The only tripartite U.N. agency, since 1919, the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers' representatives of 187 member States, to set labor standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men.
