Addressing a joint meeting of the high-ranking Iranian and Austrian delegations attended by the Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, he said that the two countries’ officials and economic activists have had good interaction following the implementation of the JCPOA, as a result of which bilateral ties were bolstered and good agreements were reached.
Referring to the talks between Iran and Austria in the field of energy, Rouhani said that it is important the Austrian government support its companies’ activities in Iran.
“The US illegal move to withdraw from the JCPOA should be considered a pretext to overlook the nations’ rights in bilateral or multilateral ties,” he said, describing the JCPOA as the achievement of the entire world.
The agreement will contribute to the regional and international economy, stability and security and it is a model for solving complicated issues through dialogue, he reiterated.
If the EU can fill vacuum of the US in the deal, Iran will stay in it, he said.
Kurz also said that Rouhani’s visit to Austria is a good opportunity for holding talks about bilateral, regional and international issues.
He further noted that EU will continue supporting the JCPOA, hoping upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran and other parties to the deal except the US will bear positive results.
