Brigadier General Hatami made the remarks in a meeting with his Serbian counterpart on the sidelines of Moscow Security Conference late on Thursday.
Hoping that bilateral relations will improve in proportion to political, economic and cultural capacities, he said that inauguration of Serbian office of military attache will help further promote defense and security collaboration between Iran and Serbia.
Criticizing the US for adopting antagonistic stance visa-vis IRGC, Hatami said that the unprincipled stances are taken at a time when Iran itself is a victim of terrorism and some 20,000 innocent Iranians have been killed in terror attacks.
The minister described IRGC as a forerunner and revolutionary force in fighting regional terrorism, saying that Americans are trying to undermine Iran’s stances against Takfiri groups by weakening the force.
Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin, for his part, thanked Iran for its efforts in reopening Serbia’s office of military attache in Tehran.
“Currently, we have good ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said.
Lambasting certain countries’ interference in relations of friendly countries, he said that Serbia will not allow any country to meddle with its strategic policies.
