Iran, Albania exchange news directly by cooperation of IRNA, ATA

'So far ATA translated news related to Iran from other countries’ media, but now ATA receives news directly from IRNA,' Director General of ATA Gezim Podgorica said on the sidelines of signing cooperation agreement with IRNA here on Monday.

Podgorica said that the two countries have long historical and cultural relations, adding that Iran has noticeable influence on Albanian culture, for instance, the greatest Albanian poet Naim Frasheri has written his first poems in Persian Language.

He reminded that many of the Persian literary works had been translated into Albanian language and had helped to the wealth of literature.

Referring to cooperation agreement, Podgorica said that ATA is to use IRNA’s technical and professional experiences to develop its activities.

Managing Director of Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Mohammad Khoddadi, for his part, welcomed sharing IRNA's experiences with ATA.

Khoddadi likened the media works to a bridge, and said that through dissemination of information, the news agencies play role of a bridge between people, businessmen and statesmen of the two states.

He said that information is a base for ties between the countries, adding that information causes mutual understanding and prepared the grounds for acquaintance with each others' capabilities and capacities as well as boosting cooperation.

Khoddadi also evaluated Tehran-Tirana relations very important, and said that cultural, religious and historical commonalties indicated age-old ties between the two nations.
