They made the remarks while addressing a seminar on Friday titled ‘Al-Quds: Torch Bearer of Islamic Renaissance Movement.’
The gathering was organized by Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in collaboration with Cultural Center of Iran embassy in Islamabad on the occasion of the International Quds Day.
Addressing the ceremony, Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini has named the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan in 1979 as the Quds Day to expose the support of imperialist forces and criminal silence of international organizations to the atrocities of Zionist regime against the defenseless Palestinians.
“Quds Day is not only related to the Palestinian people but it is a global Islamic day,” he said.
Noting that the occasion is a day for the unity of Muslims, the ambassador said, “It is observed to express solidarity with the freedom movement of Palestine and show hatred against illegal and usurper Zionist Regime.”
He added that it is a duty for all nations, societies, especially Muslim countries to encourage international organizations in protecting the rights of oppressed Palestinians.
Honardoost added that one of the main problems of the Zionists is their racism on which they are proud of.
Renowned scholar and member of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi was another speaker of the ceremony who urged the Muslim world to unite in the fight for the rights of the oppressed Palestinians who are subject to gross human rights violations by the illegal Zionist regime.
He added that Quds Day is a symbol of unity among Muslim countries against aggressors and usurpers.
He praised founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini for declaring last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the Quds Day to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
He said that Muslim rulers have not fulfilled their reasonability towards the cause of Palestine.
Chairman National Commission for Human Rights Justice (Retd) Ali Nawaz Chohan noted that there could be no peace in the world unless the long standing issue of Palestine is solved.
He said that the OIC has failed to protect the rights of Muslims especially the oppressed people of Palestine.
He said that the struggle of Muslims will continue till the abolition of the discriminatory policies towards Muslims. He demanded that Muslims of Palestine should be given equal rights.
President Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Farhat Awan in her speech said people of Pakistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed people of Palestine.
She added that Al-Quds day is a tribute to the struggle of Palestinian people. She went on to say that Al-Quds day is a day to remember all oppressed people in the world.
She went on to say that Palestine cause is a symbol of injustice and resistance to tyranny.
Another Speaker Sehrish Qamar said that Muslims have to stand united against conspiracies of enemies of Islam. She noted that Zionist Regime is committing gross human rights violation against people of Palestine.
A senior journalist Ahmed Mukhtar expressing his views said that those countries that are against Zionist Regime are being punished. He added that the United Nations has failed to guarantee the rights of Palestinian people. He said that three generations of Palestinians are living in camps, which is very unfortunate.
On the occasion a group of performers from Iran performed religious anthem about the Quds Day.
Pictures of the Palestinian people struggle with and atrocities of the Zionist regime were also displayed during the ceremony.
