IAEA’s reports in post-JCPOA era reveals Iran’s honesty: Official

In a meeting with Parliament Speaker of Flanders region in Belgium Jan Peumans, Jalali described Iran-Belgium cooperation as desirable, stressing the need for promoting mutual cooperation.

Describing parliamentary diplomacy as an approach in line with boosting bilateral and multilateral ties, he said that parliamentary dialogue between the lawmakers will pave the way for promoting cooperation between the countries.

The meeting can also help enhance interaction between Iran and Belgium and Flanders region, Jalali said.

“Flanders is an influential region in Europe with industrial and economic potentials,” he said, the region’s capacities can be used for exchanging science and technology between Iran and Belgium.

Referring to Iran’s 110-year-old history of lawmaking, Jalali said that Iran is one of the forerunners in legislature and boasts of valuable experience in the field.

“Democracy and republicanism have a long record in Iran, as it occupies a higher position in the region and Asia in this respect,” he said.

Criticizing US approach to the JCPOA, the Tehran MP said Washington’s violation of the JCPOA attests to the fact the US is not trustworthy and lack spirit for talks.

Following US exit from the JCPOA, Europe should show its compliance with the landmark deal and take practical steps in line with saving it, Jalali said.

Peumans, for his part, expressed pleasure with his meeting with the Iranian delegation, saying, “That’s a great honor for us to host lawmakers from a cultured and civilized country such as Iran.”

Stressing the need for strengthening interaction between the two countries, he said Flanders boasts of great potentials which can be used to promote mutual cooperation.

Describing Iran as civilized and cultured country in the world, Peumans called for promoting scientific and cultural relations with Iran in different fields.
