Hungarian FM calls for further co-op with Iran

Szijjártó made the remarks in a Friday meeting with Iranian ambassador to Hungary Gholam Ali Rajabi Yazdi.

He pointed to holding Iran-Hungary upcoming Joint Economic Commission in Budapest, saying that required measures have been taken to hold the joint commission in the best way.

'We look forward to visiting Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia and the entourage in Hungary,' he said.

Regarding the need to establish truce in Syria, he reiterated that Iran, Russia and Turkey cooperation has been effective in establishing peace in Syria and Syrian peace talks will pave the way for continuity of this condition and achieving a political solution for Syria crisis.

He referred to Hungarian 120-member delegation headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán' trip to Iran last year, urging boosting cooperation between Iranian and Hungarian firms.

He also pointed to inviting Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to take a trip to Hungary in the near future, underscoring the necessity of holding bilateral political and economic meetings between both countries' officials.

Rajabi Yazdi also pointed to 1,500 Iranian students studying in Hungarian universities, saying that scientific and cultural grounds are regarded as cooperation grounds between the two countries which should be reinforced.
