Friday Prayers leader calls for coherence, national unity during elections

Ayatollah Emami Kashani, referring to the May 19 Presidential and Islamic City and Village Councils elections, said that Enemies are looking forward to witnessing destruction of unity among Iranian people.

“Political coherence in the country should be preserved under any conditions,” he said.

“The enemy is looking forward to see the country’s coherence and solidarity disturbed,” Ayatollah Emami Kashani added.

He encouraged the next president-elect to do their best after victory in the polls to resolve the country’s economic problems.

“Preventing import of unnecessary goods and improving production and employment are of high importance,” the Friday Prayers leader said.

Iranians will go to the polls on May 19 to cast their vote and choose the next president as well as members of the City and Village councils.
