
Le Maire made the remarks in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Karbasian on the sideline of the 2017 Annual joint meeting of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington.
The French minister stressed that Paris is fully determined to expand its economic relations with Tehran, calling the 2015 landmark nuclear deal also known as the joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as significant.
Hailing Iran's proper measures which have been carried out in financial transparency and monitoring the banking systems, Le Maire said the Iranian bank should have access to the international standards aimed at increasing their financial transactions across the world.
Karbasian, for his part, called for expansion of all-out cooperation between Iran and France.
Touching upon the importance of boosting banking relations with France, he welcomed maintaining brokerage ties with French banks to utilize banking resources to implement the joint ventures.
Karbasian, heading a delegation, arrived in Washington on Friday (Oct 13) to attend the World Bank's autumn summit which held in the American capital on October 13-15.
