FM spokesman: UK trading its economic interests at cost of global peace

He said UK and some certain countries should exert pressure on Riyadh to prevent its bloodshed in Yemen.

Qaasemi also condemned the Saudi Arabia’s new crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and British officials' latest remarks against Iran.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed arrived in London on late Tuesday (March 15) for his controversial three-day visit amid massive outcry and protests against Riyadh’s human rights violations and its deadly war on Yemen.

'It is an interesting joke that the British authorities are expressing such anti-Iran remarks in a meeting with the officials of a country which is considered as the main culprit of human catastrophe and war crimes in Yemen and is sponsoring extremism and terrorism in the Middle East for many years,' Qasemi said.

He added that the political and arms supports of UK and some certain countries from Saudi Arabia is considered as a threat against regional peace, security and tranquility.

Qasemi reiterated that this kind of London alliance with Riyadh will fuel regional tensions and shatter establishment of peace and tranquility in the region.
