First Vice-president departs for Turkey

A group of cabinet ministers and vice-president are accompanying the first vice-president.

During his 3-day visit to Turkey, Jahangiri will consult and discuss ways to develop ties and the latest regional and international developments.

Jahangiri is to attend summit meeting of Group D8 and hold talks with participating officials of the member-states of the group.

Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari, Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi, Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Mounesun and Central Bank of Iran Governor Valiollah Seif are accompanying the the first vice-president.

Group D8 is an economic group comprised of eight Islamic developing countries of Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Nigeria founded in 1997 with the aim to strengthen and expand economic cooperation among member states.
