Iran, Italy ink MoU to turn gas flare into electricity

The MoU was sealed between the Italian firm, National Iranian South Oil Company, Pars Oil & Gas Company (P.O.G.C), Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) and Iran Fuel Conservation Company, Iran Petroleum Ministry reported.

The MoU aims at collecting issued gases to South Pars oil field phase 12 to produce electricity and to renovate oil and gas installations.

Ansaldo Energia is a producer of thermoelectric power plants, operating on international markets for customers ranging from Public Administration to Independent Power Producers and Industrial Clients. Ansaldo Energia covers the entire power generation spectrum with a combination of plant engineering, manufacturing and service activities.

In its first phase, the Italian company will produce 600 MW electricity and in the second phase about 1,000 MW electricity will be produced.
