Ex-official: No way for US to escape admitting Iran nuclear commitments

“They can't escape the fact that Iran is complying with the deal, They did the same thing last time,” Rhodes said in his twitter message on Monday referring to the Iran deal, also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Earlier, speaking to Jacob Heilbrunn, editor of the National Interest, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “If it comes to a major violation, or what in the terms of the nuclear deal is called significant nonperformance, then Iran has other options available, including withdrawing from the deal.”

“Iran has taken a route that has been prescribed within the nuclear deal, taken it to the joint commission, and we will discuss that in the joint commission to make sure that the shortcomings by the United States are remedied, he added.

In the meantime Zarif said in an interview with CNN that “Iran has implemented the deal faithfully, fully and completely but unfortunately we cannot make the same statement about the United States.”

Being the fruit of a series of difficult and lengthy negotiations between Iran, world’s major powers and the European Union (P5+1+EU) over Tehran’s nuclear activities, the JCPOA was finally signed by all sides on July 14, 2015 in Vienna.
