Bahram Qasemi said the mechanism has been under consideration for some time now to facilitate Iran's trade with the European companies.
The mechanism includes many items such as medicine, food and other commodities, he said.
Such a mechanism could be established with other countries as well, he added.
Qasemi went on to say, the mechanism is not just for purchasing medicine and food, and industrial and economic investments should also be part of the EU plan.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman referred to the recent visit to Qatar by the Iranian foreign minister and said Iran's regional policies have not changed and are based on cooperation and dialogue with regional countries.
He noted, 'The forum in Qatar was not a new forum, however given the opportunity it could provide us with, the one-day trip was taken and it offered a good opportunity for talks with regional and extra-regional officials, particularly for dialogue and consultation with Qatari authorities.'
Qasemi expressed hope the regional realities could be revealed and Iran can work with the regional countries on the right track.
