Addressing a conference in Morocco, he said Trump’s measures against the Palestinian people including recognition of al-Quds as Israeli capital has distanced him from any peace effort.
Criticizing Trump for violating international agreements, Erakat said that his withdrawal from Paris Agreement and scrapping Iran nuclear deal indicate that he is seeking to change international regulations.
He further noted that like European states, Arab states will also understand that Trump is not trustworthy.
Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has drawn an angry and despairing response from global and regional leaders – who warned it would destroy the peace process, strengthen extremists and weaken the standing of the US in the world.
