Enhanced Tehran-London relations emanated from Iran's national sovereignty

He made the remarks in a statement to the staff of Iranian Embassy in London.

He said that Tehran and London ties experienced ups and downs in the past and that after a breakup, diplomatic relations resumed at a limited level and our colleagues through their endeavors and under management of Iran's provisional chargé d'affaires Habibollahzadeh could take concrete steps to this end.

He hoped that in the new round, the Iranian and British relations would see removal of remaining weaknesses in light of new opportunities created mainly after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

There is no doubt that expansion of relations between Iran and Britain proves the Iranian right standing in the international community serving Iranian national sovereignty, he said.

Expansion of economic, banking and cultural cooperation will be on the agenda during his tenure as ambassador, he said.
