Ebtekar: Iran’s national particle pollution becomes global issue

Ebtekar underscored that the International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (SDS) has played a key role in drawing the global attention on Iran's participle pollution.

She said the three-day conference held in Tehran thanks to the domestic and international endeavors made for organizing this prestigious environmental event.

Touching upon President Hassan Rouhani’s valuable speech in the inauguration ceremony of the conference, Ebtekar underscored that event was properly reflected at the regional and international levels.

Pointing to UN's active presence in the conference, she said the UN has also appreciated Iran for hosting the conference.

International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (SDS) started work in Tehran on Monday (July 3) with participation of 34 world countries which have been affected more by the SDS.

The International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (SDS) which was hosted by the United Nations (UN) and Iranian Department of Environment reviewed Challenges and Practical Solutions to the issue.

Iran is among the world countries which have been badly hurt by the SDS phenomenon.

Iranian government has mounted a national campaign to fight the SDS, and it also has had active presence in the international events, which has led to approval of four resolutions about the issue.
