DYFM: Iran works hard to control terrorism, extremism in region

He made the remarks in a meeting with Sierra Leone Minister of State in Foreign Affair Ministry Mohamed Gibril Sesay.

Jaberi Ansari pointed to three decades of relations between the two countries and explained existing opportunities in mutual cooperation and relations.

He called terrorism as a global problem, and said that Iran works hard to control terrorism and extremism in the region, but this crisis needs a collective solution.

Mohamed Gibril called Iran as friendly country for Sierra Leone and congratulated re-election of President Hassan Rouhani.
He pointed to different challenges in the region, especially terrorism, and said that Iran has frontier role in fight against terrorism in the region.

The two sides also discussed maintaining national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries of the region, observing rights of different religious and ethnics groups, solving Iraq, Syria and Yemen crises through dialogue and referendum and in parallel fight with terrorism were among the axes of talks.

The two sides also underlined the necessity to expand and deepen politico-economic ties between Iran and Sierra Leone.
