Now Iran’s water borders have broadened, as the Navy has an active presence up to 10 degree latitude of the Indian Ocean, he said.
Sayyari further contended that regular presence in open seas and preventing Iranophobia and protecting national interests and Iran’s shipping lines in free waters are indicative of strategic role of Iran’s Navy.
“We have so far sent 52 military flotillas of peace and friendship to far waters as of 2009 and this will continue in the future,” he said.
