June 4 is the 28th anniversary of the sad demise of the late Father of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini. The occasion is marked both inside and outside Iran.

Addressing a group of Iranians in Dublin, Iran’s ambassador to Ireland Javad Kachuian elaborated on the spiritual, political and psychological dimensions of the late Imam.

“In the thought of the late Imam, religion was the origin of the Islam’s political system and every political issues in Islam were based on religious laws and teachings,” said the ambassador, adding that Imam Khomeini changed the politics framework from extreme efforts for power, hegemony and exploitation to ethic and religious spirituality and introduced the human prosperity and equality as the cause and framework of any Islamic government.

Pointing to the painful developments going on in the Middle East and Islamic countries, he said: the current situation of the world is an indication of the fact that the global violence is resulted from some mercenary political leaders' investment in extremists aimed at advancing their own political goals.

Meanwhile, in another development in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Leader’s representative in Baku Ali Akbar Ojaqnejad said in a similar ceremony that the late Imam Khomeini’s life and activities were based on three main factors, namely, belief in God, his goals and his respect for the people who rose against the idolatrous .
