Cleric describes Quds Day as a chance to revive Islamic values

Akhund Bahram Galdi Navainejad who is the Friday Prayers Leader for the city of Gomishan in the northern province of Gorgan encouraged people of all walks of life to participate in the rallies which embody the nation’s will to fight oppressive powers and the Zionist regime.

He said the Day provided an opportunity for the nation to voice its protest against the arrogant powers who for the past six decades have tried to erase Palestine from the world map.

He said the rallies will remind arrogant powers that they are no longer capable of penetrating into Islamic countries.

The International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramazan, initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1979 as a way to express solidarity with the Palestinians and underscore importance of the holy Quds to Muslims. It is also a chance to show Muslims hatred towards atrocities of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation. This year, Quds Day is on Friday July 1.
