Chinese envoy calls for removal of Iran's sanctions

Speaking in a press conference, Pang Sen said that China exports '$ 16.4 billion of commodities to Iran and in the meantime, imports $ 14.8 billion from Iran'.

The official referred to the continued consultations between Iran and China and noted that Tehran has been Beijing’s first trade partner for eight years.

He also noted that Iran's oil export to china had experienced 17.6 percent growth and Chinese companies investment in Iran had witnessed 45.14 percent growth as compared to the previous year.

Pang Sen referred to China's participation in redesign of Arak reactor, and said that Beijing is committed to continue cooperation with Iran in this regard.

The official noted that Iran is a NPT signatory, therefore should have the right for peaceful use of nuclear energy.

He pointed to obstacles in the way of complete removal of Iran's sanctions and expressed the hope for lifting all sanctions of Iran, in particular the financial embargos.

China welcomes membership of Iran in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the envoy noted.

He also hailed the Syrian talks in the Kazakhstan capital, Astana for resolution of Syria crisis, adding that Beijing is committed to improve cooperation with Iran.
