'The meeting was of great importance as it was the first such meeting since the US withdrawal from the deal,' Hua Chunying said in response to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (the US, France, Britain, China, and Russia) plus Germany signed the nuclear deal in 2015. Iran accepted to curb its nuclear program in exchange of economic sanctions relief.
The US President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal in May, calling it the worst deal ever.
The foreign ministers of the three European signatories of the nuclear agreement with Iran—Britain, France and Germany—known as EU3, and Russia and China plus Iran met on Friday (July 6) in Vienna.
All signatories in the meeting actively showed that they are in favor of saving the deal, the Chinese spokeswoman said.
She also described the final statement of the commission as an indication to a positive political will of the members.
FM Wang Yi in the meeting expressed his country's strong support for the deal, offering a five-folded proposal on the basis that the international law rules the implementation of JCPOA, preventing the members from unilateral measures resulted from their internal political developments.
