
Burt made the remarks Friday upon arrival at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport.
He pointed to the upcoming oath-taking ceremony as a suitable opportunity to identify Iran's status in the region and the world and also to identify Tehran's stances on regional developments.
Burt arrived in Tehran today to participate in President Hassan Rouhani's swearing-in ceremony which is slated to be held on August 5 in Majlis (Parliament).
Many heads of states and top officials from different countries have so far arrived in tehran to participate in the event.
Rouhani was re-elected for a second term in office on May 19, for another four years, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.
