Boosting Iran, Armenia ties beneficial to both sides: Envoy

Kazem Sajjadi, in a meeting with the visiting Iranian Parliamentary delegation in the Armenian capital on Sunday evening, expressed hope that the forthcoming travel of the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to Iran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, on Aug 5, would lead to further development of bilateral relations between the two nations.

Iranian and Armenian officials have focused on planning to promote cooperation, Sajjadi said.

The Iranian delegation is in Armenia to explore ways to broaden educational and cultural ties between the two neighboring nations.

The parliamentary delegation is also to visit Yerevan State University, and will leave for Georgia after ending talks with the Armenian officials.
