Belarus, Iran hold talks in Tehran

Head of foreign policy and national security committee of Senate and head of Belarus-Iran parliamentary friendship group are accompanying Myasnikovich during his visit to Tehran.

Heads of Investment Agency, privatization Agency, Chamber of Commerce of Belarus, Managing directors of Belarusian companies, manufacturers of buses, electrical systems for urban transportation and tractors are among other delegation members who are accompanying the Senate president during his visit to Tehran.

During their 3-day visit to Iran, the Belarusian officials are to hold talks with their counterparts as well as paving the grounds for the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka to Iran.

Myasnikovich told IRNA that there exists wide capabilities to develop relations between the two countries, adding that upcoming negotiations at high level would be an important stage in development of cooperation.

According to the roadmap drawn in May 2016 and signed in Minsk, the two countries set different commercial, industrial, joint venture projects to increase trade exchange volume from $ 75 million annually to $ 250 million at the end of 2017.

Tehran and Minsk had already agreed on launching production lines of truck, diesel and gas buses, joint manufacturing mine machineries, production of bio-sensor upon nano-technology and micro-processors needed in medical industry, joint venture project to manufacture tractors, cooperation in petrochemical, fishery and agriculture.

The joint cooperation commission in year 2017 is to discuss issues like joint venture projects in different fields, using advanced technologies in agriculture, industry, medical, treatment, pharmaceuticals, construction and new materials, scientific and academic structures, exchanging professors and students.

Belarus Republic with 10 million populations is neighboring Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and occupies an area of 207,600 square kilometers.
