Basij ideology, globalized: IRGC commander

'Today, Basij ideology has become globalized,' Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari said in the Basijis' gathering held on the occasion of the national Basij Day in Iran.

Referring to the important role the Basij forces played in the recent complete defeat of the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS), the IRGC commander said the volunteer forces are determined to counter the hegemonic power and foil its plots.

Basij, he added, is a good example for the Muslim people to fight the hegemonic powers all around the world.

He further said that the victory gained by the Resistance Front in Iraq and Syria over Daesh and the collapse of the Zionist-Takfiri system is another example of development of Basij culture in the Muslim countries.

Sazman-e Basij-e Mostazafeen (Basij Organization) was founded in 1979 by the founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini.
