Azerbaijan hails Iran humanitarian aids in Nagorno-Karabakh

“Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation and Iranian Red Crescent’s humanitarian aids to the Republic of Azerbaijan during the hard times of Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts are not forgettable,” said Ali S. Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and Chairman of State Committee of Republic of Azerbaijan for Refugees and internally displaced persons.

The Iranian Red Crescent was among the first to provide our war refugees with help, he added.

Referring to the high-level relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan, Hasanov also stressed that the ties and collaborations between the two sides should be developed not only in the economic spheres but also in humanitarian issues.

Iran Red Crescent Society deputy for his part said that Tehran is ready to develop relations with Azerbaijan in all fields including the humanitarian issues.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand collaboration with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all areas, including the humanitarian sector,” Saffari said appreciating Azeri government’s support for the Iranian Red Crescent to set up its medical center in the country.

He added that Iran is ready to transfer experience to Azerbaijan Republic in the areas of rescue and relief operation, re-habitation as well as helping the poor and disabled.

Development of cooperation in health tourism as well as the medical sector was among other topics discussed between the Iranian and Azeri officials.

The Deputy of the Iranian Red Crescent arrived in Azerbaijan on Friday on a three-day visit to the country, to work towards fostering cooperation between the two neighboring nations in humanitarian issues.
