Ayatollah Rafsanjani played dynamic role in building Iran-Pakistan ties: Chairman Senate

In an interview with IRNA after signing condolence book at the embassy of Iran, Mian Raza Rabbani said Pakistan indeed has lost a very strong ally and friend in His Excellency’s death.

He added that Pakistan and Iran are bound together not only in terms of religion, but in terms of culture and they share common view on a number of international issues.
“His dynamic leadership would always be a stabilizing factor for the entire region,’ said the Pakistani top official.

“We mourn his death as the people of Iran do with the same amount of sorrow because we feel that he was from amongst one of us. The Muslim world has also lost a great scholar, a great leader with vision and it will be difficult to fill this gap in days to come,” he said.

Earlier Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed deep grief over demise of Ayatollah Rafsanjani and praised him as a symbol of reconciliatory peace efforts at the international level.
