AUA Sec-Gen congratulates Rouhani’s re-election

In his message to Rouhani released on Sunday Yonathan Betkolia pointed to the support given to President Rouhani by majority of Iranians as a vivid example of Rouhani’s popularity and qualification to take the office.

The high turnout in May 19 elections signaled the message to the world that the future of the country is of importance for Iranian people, he added.

Betkolia also referred to Assyrians participation in elections, saying that Rouhani’s victory is a source of pride and exhilaration.

The incumbent President Hassan Rouhani won a landslide victory obtaining over 23.4 million of votes (57%) from more than 41 million ballots cast on May 19 in the 12th presidential election.
