Armenian president congratulates Iranian Leader, president on Norouz

While extending best wishes for Iran and Iranian nation, Sargsyan called for expansion Iran-Armenia all-out ties.

He said Armenia and Iran had enjoyed cordial political, economic, trade and cultural relations in the past 25 years.

He also expressed hope that relations between the two countries could be expanded more than before.

Armenian president also wished success, health and prosperity for Ayatollah Khamenei, President Rouhani and Iranian nation.

Norouz, as spelled in Persian, means the New Day and marks the beginning of spring according to the ancient Iranian solar calendar.

Millions of people in Iran and a number of other countries across the globe celebrate Norouz.

It is celebrated by more than 300 million people worldwide on the day of the spring Equinox, which marks the sun’s crossing of the Equator and the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
