Armenian defense minister to visit Iran soon

The main aim of the visit by Sargsyan, expected to take place on January 30, is following up defense consultations between Iran and Armenia, an informed source told the Islamic Republic News Agency.

“On the agenda is also strengthening bilateral and regional ties between Tehran and Yerevan,” the source said, referring to good political relations between the two neighboring nations.

A former Soviet Republic, Armenia declared its independence in 1991.

Iran and Armenia have enjoyed good neighborly ties during past years and they have promoted bilateral relations in all spheres, including defense.
