All efforts focusing to keep UN in JCPOA: UK envoy at UN

'I'm not going to focus on any negative consequences because all the efforts are going into trying to ensure that the JCPOA continues; the deal is in every body's interests,' Allen told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Allen added, 'In a turbulent part of the world, we don’t want to create more problems, so we are all focusing on that.'

Saying that he preferred to focus on the positive idea, he also said that the UK has been 'very supportive of developing economic ties so far' and tries to insure that the deal stays.

Trump was set to announce his decision about Iran nuclear deal on May 12, but he suddenly announced he was going to do it sooner, on Tuesday afternoon at the White House.

Trump has slammed the JCPOA since he announced he was running for presidential elections; and since he took office in January 2017, he has been criticizing the landmark political achievement calling it 'the worst deal'. He has threatened that he will withdraw the US from the deal.

In the past few weeks, top officials and authorities of the deal's signatories, EU foreign policy officials and the UN authorities have tried hard to talk Trump into staying in the deal.

The 2015 deal between the permanent members of the UNSC plus Germany and Iran, offered Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for limiting its nuclear program.

Tehran has officially announced that it is ready for different possible scenarios.
