Algeria is keeping the door open for the Iranian companies to do business with the country and help promote bilateral ties between Tehran and Algiers, Algerian Ambassador to Iran Abdol-Monem Ahriz told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in an interview conducted on the occasion of the African country's War of Independence anniversary commemoration.
The two countries' businessmen and investors in recent years have relied on the support provided by politicians in both nations to increase their engagements and open up new ways to further cooperation, Ahriz said.
The Algerian envoy to Iran also said that Iran and Algeria, based on their geopolitical positions, could promote bilateral ties between Asia and Africa.
Iran and Algeria by taking advantage of their high potential and the security and stability they both enjoy, could effectively promote regional exchanges between the two continents and set up a model for the South-South cooperation.
The Algerian War of Independence began on November 1st, 1954 and ended in 1962 when French President Charles De Gaulle pronounced Algeria an independent country.
