Algeria appreciates Iran’s efforts in fighting terrorism

Bensalah made the remarks in a Monday meeting with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi-Amiri.

He expressed satisfaction over developing ties between the two countries.

He added that the agreements signed between Iran and Algeria have resulted in reinforcing relations.

“Fortunately, Iran-Algeria joint commission was launched last year and it makes all agreements operational on schedule,” he said.

Algerian official pointed to the importance of Iran-Algeria participation in cultural events, saying that undoubtedly, bilateral cooperation in fighting terrorism will bring about tangible results.

Meanwhile, Salehi Amiri referred to rationality and stability in Algeria as crucial factors for Iran to establish ties with this country.

“We have common views on Palestine and fighting the Zionist regime,” Amiri added.

He stressed on developing political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, saying that it is time for both countries to take major steps in this regard.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi-Amiri left Iran for Algeria and Tunisia on Monday to sign documents on cultural and art cooperation.

Participating in international book fair, opening Iranian film week in Tunisia and holding meetings with cultural officials are on the agenda of Salehi’s tour to the two African countries.
