1st VP: Terrorist attacks forge unity, solidarity among nation

Jahangiri made the remarks on the sidelines of the funeral processions held for a number of those who attained martyrdom in Tehran terrorist attacks on Wednesday.

When Takfiri terrorist groups disrupted orders and attacked various countries and Muslims in the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran was the only country who stood against them with much strength, he said.
Terrorist groups tried to harm Iran’s tight security in these days but were doomed to failure, Jahangiri added referring to two coordinated terrorist attacks made on the Iranian Parliament and mausoleum of the Father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran on Wednesday. At least 17 people were killed and more than 50 were injured during the attacks.

The attackers were killed or arrested by security forces while two of them blew themselves up outside the late Imam’s shrine and in the Parliament building respectively.

“Their act brought us unity and solidarity which encourage our nation to firmly continue the fight against terrorism,” he said.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.

However, Iran's Intelligence Ministry declared that more terrorists involved in Tehran recent attacks have been identified and arrested.
