'The trade between Iran and Uzbekistan is not at the actual level of the two countries' capabilities and facilities,' said Achilbay Ramatov in the 12th joint commission of economic, scientific and technical cooperation of Iran and Uzbekistan.
Ramatov said that his country is ready to expand export of some products demanded in the Iranian market, including thread, walnut, polyethylene, etc.
Uzbekistan imports one million tons of raw materials from Iran that can increase to three million tons, said Ramatov.
He added that the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman trade route is very important and is the shortest and safest way from central Asia to the Persian Gulf.
