There are a lot of industrial capacities in Iran, which can be used to strengthen economic ties, said Markus Leitner on a one-day visit to Markazi Province.
He said that the provincial visits aim at getting acquainted with Iran's capacities so that the economic ties can be expanded.
Deputy Governor of Markazi Province in charge of Coordinating Economic Affairs and Development said, 'Markazi Province is the first province to be chosen by Swiss Embassy for investigation and visit and undoubtedly, the visit will entail valuable achievements.'
He added that the province is known for its handicraft, including carpets, and industrial products, some of which are being sold in Europe as famous trademarks.
Manouchehr Tavvasoti, the Head of the provincial Chamber of Commerce, said, 'The products of the province enjoy international standards that can compete with the foreign-made ones.'
Iran's imports from Switzerland were 545 million dollars in value, while its exports to the country were worth 63 million dollars in 2017.
