Iranians so far have taken big strides and adopted lots of measures in the field of environmental sustainability and sustainable energies, said Wolfgang Neumann Tuesday evening during a ceremony held to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Energy Globe Foundation and Yazd's municipality in the central Iranian city, known as the 'city of windcatchers'.
Referring to the natural ventilation potential of a windcatcher in Yazd, Neumann described the city located in Iran's desert area as a global sustainability center.
What the Iranian people have done is quite admirable, said he whose company has more than three decades of experience in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energies.
It is assumed outside Iran that people in the country, because of having access to vast resources of energy, tend not to be mindful about environmental sustainability and sustainable energies, he said.
Neumann added that it is time for the countries across the world to cooperate and help each other to address environmental problems.
