Kasra Nouri on Sunday, in an interview with IRNA's economic correspondent, responded to repeated statements by the South Korean ambassador to Tehran that Korean oil companies continue to cooperate with Iran, and said, 'Although we, like the past, are interested in developing cooperation with South Korea in all possible fields in the oil industry, unfortunately South Korea has stopped importing oil from Iran.'
He reminded that for three consecutive months South Korea has no oil imports from Iran.
India, South Korea and Japan, the three Asian countries, are purchasers of oil from Iran; Seoul bought about 180,000 barrels of oil a day, before cutting off its oil imports from Iran.
A three-month cut in South Korean oil imports from Iran carried out while South Korean ambassador to Tehran spoke last week on his country's attempts to obtain exemption from the United States for continued oil purchases from Iran.
South Korean ambassador Yu Jang Hyun told Tehran Chamber of Commerce that Korean companies have not cut their trade and economic ties with Iranian firms despite the difficulty of sanctions; they are interested in working in Iran and they want to continue their trade and economic relations with the country.
