Singapore eyeing trade, economic co-op with Iran

Iran's ambassador to Singapore told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the delegation, comprising of big Singaporean companies' managers and headed by Singapore Business Federation, has been visiting Tehran.

'The delegation will discuss ways for boosting bilateral relations between Iran and Singapore,' he said.

The visit is being made in coordination with Iran's embassy in Singapore and Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, according to the envoy.

The Singaporean businesspersons met with senior officials from Organization of investment, Economic and Technical Assistance Of Iran, and got briefed on facilities and regulations of Iran's Special Economic Zones.

The delegation's main fields of activity are aluminum, steel and titanium composite panels, paint, business, legal and tax consultations, hotel furniture and appliances, investment and petrochemical asset management.

Iran's ambassador also said that the agenda includes discussing large construction projects, especially in oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

'Some Singaporean managers have managed to open offices and register firms in Iran, mainly in shipping, portal industries, petrochemical and maritime transportation,' the senior diplomat said.
